How do I know if I’m working out hard enough?
by Journey to Health Program Director, Becky Anderson
I always giggle when I talk to people that complain about not seeing results from going to the gym every day for a couple of hours each day. My first question is, “Well, what are you doing at the gym for a couple of hours every day? Are you working out that whole time?”
There is one thing I can tell you with 100% certainty, you WILL get out of your work outs what you put INTO your work outs. You have to get your heart rate up, you have to put in the work, you have to challenge yourself. When you do, this will impact you in a positive way.
Please refer to the chart to know where your heart rate should be during your workouts.
Your max heart rate is 220-age. You take that max heart rate and calculate these percentages to make sure you’re at the right range for the results you’re seeking. If you need help figuring out what your Target Heart Rate Range (THRR) is, please email me.
