Exercising With A Busy Schedule

by Journey to Health Program Director, Becky Anderson

The Surgeon General recommends an adult get 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week. Ideally this would be 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week.

With the busyness of our everyday lives, sometimes people cannot carve 30 minutes out of their day to get this accomplished.

One VERY important fact to take into consideration is that exercise can be cumulative. Maybe you cannot find a 30-minute block of time to accomplish your exercise goal, but every single one of us should be able to find 3, 10-minute blocks of time that can add up to your 30-minute goal.

Try to schedule your day to fit those 10-minute blocks in and see if that works for you. Schedule these like any other appointment and don’t let yourself cancel them.

You can do it! Email me and let me know how it works for you!
