How important is water?

Drink more water!!

There are so many health benefits to drinking water that there is no way I can list them all. A matter of fact, in over 20 years in this wellness industry, when asked by thousands of people what is one thing they can do to improve their health, my answer is always to DRINK MORE WATER. A lot of us can get overwhelmed when we decide to make ourselves a priority, so I recommend starting with one change/improvement and then master it before starting on your next one.

Here is a trick I use for getting more water in. I love Coke Zero. I’m not a big coffee person, but my mouth waters for Coke Zero. Before I can have what I really want, I make myself get in at least half of my water goal first. I try not to get there before 11am, but it depends on how my day is going. I may “need” that Coke Zero sooner, so chugging water it is.

How much water do you need a day? I use the old school method of dividing your weight in half and that’s how many ounces you need a day. A newer method is simply to plan on drinking a gallon each day. That is 128 ounces. I drink my water plain, but I encourage “water haters” to use Crystal Light or some other water enhancer if that helps you to get more water in.

And, yes, you will be getting more steps in because you will be making more trips to the bathroom.
